Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Naomi Susan Schwartz Jacobs has lived in United States, Israel, Germany, and the United Kingdom. She remembers how at age 8 she felt a consuming desire to sketch her surroundings. For the next several decades she has explored a wide variety of media and has studied with such artists as Doris Lewis, Philip Ratner, Andrea Rowe Kraus, and Scott Rankin, as well as at the Maryland School of Art and Design. At the same time, she pursued a career in academia, writing a dissertation on an ancient Jewish fairy tale, the Book of Tobit, which has been the inspiration for many artists, including Rembrandt, with Professor Loren T. Stuckenbruck. Jacobs has taught Semitic languages and Jewish literature and history at Durham University, Washington University in Saint Louis and for the Central Agency for Jewish Education in Saint Louis. Some of her artwork draws on ancient Jewish themes. Since 2007 Jacobs has created art digitally, first using Facebook's Graffiti app and then progressing to Paintbrush and now Art Rage Studio Pro. Her work is shaped by a richness of color and an expansive, uplifting perspective. In the words of other artists: 'Your art reaches a dimension of spirit with some unique colors. They made me dream' (Sonia Tamer/Brazil); “It's a great mix of Krasner's colours and with a bit of Veira de silva” (Marc Heaton/UK); 'Very soothing to one's soul' (Louise Kiner/Canada). On March 20,2011, Dutch artist Monica Hulsing selected Jacobs as her Artist of the Day on Twitter. Jacobs' artworks are displayed in the happy homes of her patrons. There is also a permanent installation of her painted glass bottles at Palatine House, Durham University, Be sure to look out for her appearances at Art Fairs, galleries, and alternative spaces.

Jacobs exhibited at the Taste of Saint Louis in September 2011 and had an individual show at the Drew Henry Salon and Gallery in Saint Louis Nov 5 2011 -- Feb 5 2012.
